Boulder History Museum (free first Sunday monthly)
The Boulder History Museum offers free admission on the first Sunday of every month. This is a great deal and a chance for the rest of us to check out the museum's permanent displays as well as their changing exhibits.
The Boulder History Museum is set in a historic home on The Hill near the CU Boulder campus, and contains over 35,000 objects that are historically significant. This home turned Colorado history museum depicts Colorado history with an emphasis on mining history and the lifestyles of early Colorado settlers.
Recently the Boulder History Museum has become semi-famous for the unexplained sculptures that appear on the museum grounds. There may be a new one there when you visit! The museum is also adjacent to Beach Park, which is a great small park for children to play on the jungle gyms.
