Two Ponds National Wildlife Refuge, Arvada (always free)

Two Ponds is a very small National Wildlife Refuge which was created as a place for migrating birds to stop and rest. It is a picturesque and educational park on 80th Avenue in suburban Arvada.

There are frequent ranger-led activities throughout the year, check their web site schedule for details.

Note that since this is a bird refuge, pets are not allowed.

Hours:
West Entrance, park at Medical Center: dawn to dusk, 7 days a week.
East Entrance, park in lot on 80th street: Tuesday-Saturday 8 to 4.
