Colorado Day, Free Colorado State Parks (First Monday in August)
Colorado Day is an annual tradition of celebrating Colorado's acceptance into statehood. Colorado was first recognized as a state on August 1, 1876, and now we celebrate Colorado Day on the first Monday of every August.
Colorado State Parks charge hefty admission fees, and they keep going up every few years. Fortunately all Colorado State Parks are FREE on Colorado Day!
For 2010, Colorado day is Monday August 2, 2010. All Colorado State Parks will be free!
